Weekly OSP Report
Purpose and Scope
The UTRGV Weekly OSP Report dashboard provides a comprehensive view of weekly proposal submissions and associated metrics through the Argo system. It supports monitoring, analysis, and decision-making for stakeholders, offering insights into funding efforts, proposal types, and submission trends.
Data Sources and Structure
The dashboard pulls data from the ARGO system, focusing on 15 key metrics related to proposals, funding requests, and customer surveys. The data is structured weekly and summarized to track trends, ensuring accurate and up-to-date insights for research administration.
Key Metrics and Visualizations
Key metrics include the number of proposals submitted, total funding requested, and customer survey counts. Visuals include:
- Tables: Presenting weekly metrics and proposal details.
- Line Chart: Showing trends in proposal submissions over time.

- Filters and Slicers:
- Submit to Sponsor Date: Users can filter the report based on the submission dates to the sponsor, adjusting the timeline to focus on specific date ranges.
- Proposal ID: Allows users to select and view specific proposals submitted during the selected period.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- # of Customer Surveys Sent: Total number of customer surveys sent for the selected period.
- # of Proposals Submitted: Displays the count of all proposals submitted during the selected period.
- $ Total Requested: Shows the total dollar amount of funding requested across all proposals.
- # of Proposals with Doctoral/PostDoc Funding: Count of proposals that include doctoral or post-doctoral student funding requests.
- Cards:
- Proposals: Displays the total number of proposals submitted.
- RSRCH Requested $: The amount of research-specific funding requested.
- ORU Proposals: Number of proposals involving an Organized Research Unit (ORU).
- Fixed Price Contracts: Indicates the number of proposals specifying fixed-price contracts.
- Visuals:
- Table: Lists the 15 key metrics tracked weekly, providing specific values for each metric across different weeks.
- Line Chart: Shows the trend of proposal submissions over time, helping users visualize submission patterns.
- Overall Functionality: This tab provides a snapshot of weekly metrics related to proposal submissions. Users can track trends, identify the volume and type of proposals submitted, and assess funding amounts requested, supporting informed decision-making.
- Filters and Slicers:
- Week Start Date: Users can adjust the start date to narrow down proposals submitted during a particular week.
- Proposal ID: Allows filtering to a specific proposal ID to examine its details.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- # of Proposals: Total count of proposals for the selected week.
- Visuals:
- Detailed Table: Displays a comprehensive list of proposals, showing:
- Proposal ID and submission date
- Amount requested
- Whether it's a fixed-price contract
- Function code
- Proposal type (e.g., pre-proposal, proposal, resubmission)
- Doctoral/PostDoc funding indicators
- Shared credit information (e.g., total percentage shared among personnel)
- Detailed Table: Displays a comprehensive list of proposals, showing:
- Overall Functionality: This tab allows users to drill down into specific proposal details for a chosen week. It supports detailed analysis of individual proposals, helping identify specifics like budget type, shared credits, and funding categories.

- Week Start Date: Selects the starting date for downloading data from a specific week.
- Proposal ID: Filters proposals based on their ID for data extraction.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- # of Proposals: Displays the total number of proposals submitted for the selected week.
- Visuals:
- Detailed Download Table: Includes detailed information for each proposal such as:
- Proposal ID, submission date, and total amount requested
- Employee ID, name, and role involved in the proposal
- Shared credit percentages and dollar amounts
- ORU details, function codes, and funding type information (e.g., doctoral, postdoc)

- Overall Functionality: This tab is designed for data extraction and provides a comprehensive view of proposal information. Users can use this section to download detailed data for reporting, auditing, or further analysis.
Access and Support
Access to the dashboard is restricted to authorized personnel, including PIs, department administrators, and financial leads who manage sponsored projects. Users can log in through the institution's secure login system to access the dashboard.
