The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, through its University Transportation Center for Railway Safety (UTCRS), has joined a $9.7 million partnership led by the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen (BRS). This initiative, funded by the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), aims to advance rail safety research and innovation.

Dr. Eloi Camprubi, assistant professor of Astrobiology at UTRGV’s School of Integrative Biological and Chemical Sciences, has been appointed to the Board of Directors for NASA’s Texas Space Grant Consortium (TSGC).

UTRGV has been awarded a $467,325 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice's National Institute of Justice (NIJ) for a forensic research project aimed at transforming age-at-death estimation in forensic science.
