Welcome to Research Enhancement
Research Enhancement is committed to enhancing the research capacity and competitiveness of UTRGV and its faculty, as well as advancing the impact and visibility of their research and scholarly activities. We offer a wide range of services and resources, including tools to find funding, assistance with funding searches, proposal development services, and collaboration building. We facilitate and coordinate large and multi-disciplinary proposals and provide faculty research development through workshops, training, presentations, external speakers, and events.
What We Do
Limited Submissions are competitive funding opportunities in which the sponsor only allows a limited number of proposals from a given institution. Extra submissions can result in rejection of all submitted by that institution. Research Enhancement, is responsible for the internal solicitation and screening of limited submission pre-proposals to determine which faculty/staff will represent UTRGV as principal investigators (PIs) in the funding agency’s competition.
The internal guidelines will provide specific information, links to internal and external web resources, and deadlines pertaining to the specific funding agency program, as well as instructions to which the pre-proposals must adhere. All PI-eligible UTRGV faculty/staff interested in submitting an external funding proposal to the limited submission opportunity must submit their internal pre-proposal via Submittable.

We are dedicated to serving the mission of UTRGV by providing proposal development assistance to enhance the the competitiveness of proposals. Our priorities include helping faculty find appropriate funders and/or funding opportunities, supporting strategic, large-scale proposal submissions, assisting faculty whose previous submissions have not yet been successful, and supporting new faculty as they navigate the grant development and submission process.
Limited Submission Opportunities
Submittable is a tool that allows for electronic submission and review of limited submission competitions and is much improved from the previous email-based process. The entire process is now automated and easier to track as the submission, review and selection process is completed through Submittable.
