Prestigious Application open July 15 - September 15 The Sloan Research Fellowships seek to stimulate fundamental research by early-career scientists and scholars of outstanding promise. These two-year fellowships are awarded yearly to 126 researchers in recognition of distinguished performance and a unique potential to make substantial contributions to their field. Disciplines include: physics, chemistry, mathematics, neuroscience, economics, computer science, computational and evolutionary molecular biology, and ocean sciences.

Highly Prestigious Application due September 25 The ACLS Fellowship program invites research applications in all disciplines of the humanities and related social sciences. The ultimate goal of the project should be a major piece of scholarly work by the applicant.

Highly Prestigious Each year, the National Humanities Center welcomes up to forty scholars from across the humanities and all over the world. During their time in residence, Fellows are given the freedom to work on their projects while benefiting from the exceptional services of the Center. Deadline: October 2

The goals of the membership of the AAP include the pursuit of medical knowledge, and the advancement through experimentation and discovery of basic and clinical science and their application to clinical medicine. Nominees should be physician scientists who have made impactful contributions that advanced biomedical science, medicine or health. Nominations for work from across the spectrum of biomedical research including laboratory-based, patient-based and population-based research are welcomed. Deadline: October 10

Highly Prestigious The Center offers a residential fellowship program for scholars working in a diverse range of disciplines that contribute to advancing research and thinking in social science. Fellows represent the core social and behavioral sciences (anthropology, economics, history, political science, psychology, and sociology) but also the humanities, education, linguistics, communications, and the biological, natural, health, and computer sciences. Deadline: October 31

Prestigious To recognize and encourage excellence in organic chemistry. The award includes a $40,000 unrestricted research grant to be assigned by the recipient to any university or nonprofit institution. The recipient may also be invited to make a presentation at an ACS regional meeting during the year after the Cope Award and Cope Scholar Award Symposium. Deadline: November 1
