What We Do
Research Administration is comprised of three units: Office of Sponsored Programs, Office of Grants and Contracts, and Office of Grant Accounting.
The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) serves as the coordinating office for externally funded research projects submitted by the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV). The goal of OSP is to assist faculty, researchers and professional staff in their efforts to secure external funding.
The Office of Grants & Contracts (G&C) serves as the coordinating office for externally funded research projects awarded to the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV).G&C is responsible for processing the award setup, manage expenditures, ensure proper accounting, and financial reporting through the lifecycle from establishment to closeout for a funded project.
The Office of Grant Accounting (GA) is responsible for ensuring financial compliance and proper accounting are met for externally funded research projects awarded to the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV). GA works closely with the Office of Grants and Contracts as well as other departments within the University through the lifecycle of a sponsored project.
