Graduate Program Outcome Funding (GPOF)
Purpose and Scope
Graduate Program Outcome Funding (GPOF) Dashboard is designed to provide insights into UTRGV's graduate programs throughout the academic year and generate the GPOF ($) that will be provided to the academic colleges' dean. It tracks key metrics such as enrolled graduate students number, credit hours attempted and earned, dissertation and thesis hours earned, degree applicable credit hours earned, and GPOF ($) given out. The dashboard allows administrators and staff to make informed decisions related to the dollar amount received per graduate program per term within the given academic year. It offers a comprehensive view of graduate students' success, from enrollment to credit earned, helping stakeholders make data-driven decisions.
- Student Performance Tracking: Tracks the accumulation of credit hours earned and calculate how many of those hours are going towards their degree overall.
- Course Enrollment: List out each course that were enrolled for the given academic year for each graduate student.
- GPOF ($): Displays the total dollar amount that each graduate program received.
- Course Catalog : List out all course that were taught throughout the given academic year.
The dashboard aims to support proactive decision making to maximize the GPOF ($) received per degree applicable credit hour earned for the general graduate student population.
Data Sources and Structure
The dashboard integrates data from SAIR Doctoral Reports (starting Fall 2015) and Banner, focusing on critical data points such as:
- Credit hours earned per term
- Dissertation hours
- Enrollment and demographic information
- Degree completions
- Academic standing and lifecycle progression
The data is processed and visualized using Power BI, allowing for real-time tracking and analysis of student data.
Key Metrics and Visualizations
Key metrics include:
- Credit Hours: Number of the overall credit hours attempted and earned for both in the doctoral level and master level.
- Enrolled Graduate Students: Displays the number of graduate student enrolled for given term and how many of those graduated.
- GPOF ($): Display the financial compensation for each graduate program.
Visualizations include interactive bar charts, line graphs, tables, and heatmaps, enabling users to explore the data from various perspectives and make informed decisions regarding student and program outcomes.

Filters and Slicers:
- AY: Filters data based on the selected academic year.
- Level: Filters data based on the level of the graduate program (e.g. Masters or Doctoral)
- College/School & Major: Filters data based on the selected college or major.
- Enrolled Term: Filters by term enrolled (e.g., Fall, Spring, Summer).
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Total Students: Displays the total number of doctoral students.
- Student Status: A breakdown of student status such as current, dismissed, graduated, and stop out.
Cards:
- Number of Attempted DR Hours: Displays the number of attempted doctoral level credit hours enrolled for.
- Number of Earned DR Hours: Displays the number of earned doctoral level credit hours at the end of the term.
- Number of Attempted MA Hours: Displays the number of attempted master's level credit hours enrolled for.
- Number of Earned MA Hours: Displays the number of earned master's level credit hours at the end of the term.
Visuals:
- Definition Icon: An icon that displays several definitions regarding this page when hovered over.
- Graduate Student Credit Matrix: A detailed matrix table listing programs, doctoral student enrollment, and credit hours information, and GPOF ($) awarded for a given term.

This page provides a high-level overview of enrollment and credit hours attempted and earned for graduate students. Users can filter by various categories to see insights on specific colleges, programs, and terms.
Filters and Slicers:
- AY: Filters data based on the selected academic year.
- Level: Filters data based on the level of the graduate program (e.g. Masters or Doctoral)
- College/Major, Enrolled Term, Student Level: Allows filtering by major, level, and student’s enrollment term.
- Repeated Courses: Filters data based on if the course were repeated by a student.
- Enrolled Term: Filters by term enrolled (e.g., Fall, Spring, Summer).
Cards:
- Number of Enrolled Students: Displays the number of enrolled graduate students.
- Number of Course Repeating: Displays the number of courses that have repeating enrollment.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Enrolled Students Courses: Shows the list of enrolled courses for each graduate student.
Visuals:
- Repeating Courses Table: Lists individual courses and their number of repeating enrollment..
- Student Course History Table: Lists individual students and their enrolled courses along with their program information.
Overall Functionality:
This page tracks each individual graduate students and their enrolled courses for the given academic year in a simple to read format.

- Course Level, Type, Subject, and Course Number: Filters data by course level, type, subject and course number.

- # of Courses, Subject: The total number of courses and subjects being offered by UTRGV for the given academic year.
