Why UTRGV?
I selected UTRGV for its combination of affordability, proximity to home, and the opportunity to immerse myself in the rich cultural experience of the Valley. Being a lifelong resident of the area, I appreciated the university’s strong Hispanic heritage and its commitment to providing a welcoming environment. Additionally, following in the steps of my older sister, a UTPA alum, further solidified my decision to attend UTRGV.
What made you decide on your current major?
I’ve always been interested in pursuing a career in sports marketing. The field's emphasis on creativity and interpersonal skills aligned with my desire to step outside of my comfort zone and engage with outgoing people.
What do you hope to achieve beyond completion of your major?
Beyond my academic pursuits, I aspire to begin a career in sports marketing or work in a fast-paced marketing agency to gain valuable experience. My ultimate long-term goal is to become an entrepreneur and establish a business that provides internship opportunities for UTRGV students.
What do you like most about UTRGV?
One of my favorite things about my UTRGV experience is the faculty. The professors have consistently demonstrated a commitment to my success by providing both academic support and guidance on securing opportunities.

What opportunities has UTRGV helped you find throughout your community?
Through my involvement at UTRGV, I have collaborated with outgoing individuals, reinforcing my passion for marketing. My current role as a Digital Assistant Work Study with the Athletic Department has provided me with valuable insights into the operations and significance of the university’s sports program. Additionally, UTRGV has played a crucial role in securing multiple opportunities for me.
What advice do you have for fellow students pursuing their degrees?
My advice to my fellow students is to engage in campus life as early as possible. I regret not participating more fully, as involvement significantly enhances opportunities for personal and professional growth through networking and relationships with peers.
