Why UTRGV?
UTRGV is a university with a strong connection to my family. My mother first attended UT Pan American in 1990, and my brother graduated from UTRGV in 2022. The campus is close to my hometown, making it easy to visit family and friends. UTRGV also offers a highly respected engineering program, making it the perfect choice for my academic and career goals.
What made you decide on your current major?
Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated by how electronics work—everything from the circuits that power devices to the signals that transmit information. This curiosity grew into a passion for understanding and innovating within the field. Pursuing this major allows me to explore that passion while contributing to advancements in technology.
What do you hope to achieve beyond completion of your major?
I aspire to use my skills to develop solutions that benefit communities. Whether it’s advancing infrastructure, enhancing communication systems, or designing sustainable technology, I want to address real-world challenges through engineering and problem-solving. My goal is to help create a more connected, efficient, and impactful world.
What do you like most about UTRGV?
I love UTRGV’s strong sense of community and the lasting friendships I’ve formed. The university fosters a supportive environment where students help one another. I also appreciate the dedicated professors who take pride in their work and actively support students, making the academic experience truly rewarding.

Through its support and events, I secured my current job, which began as an internship I found at a career fair. These experiences have been instrumental in shaping my career and personal development.

Choose a degree that genuinely excites and fulfills you. Your academic journey should be driven by passion and curiosity, making the process both enjoyable and rewarding.
