UTRGV, two-time national chess champions, qualifies for college Final Four

Four Hospitality and Tourism Management students competed in a national competition called “Redesigning the Restaurant of the Future,” hosted by Restaurant Finance Monitor, back in November. The students created a mobile app that would give users the chance to “experience the world from their kitchen.” The user would be able to explore new recipes and get the ingredients delivered to their home. The team was called “Pronto,” and consisted of Ace Palomero, Aniella Perez, Abelardo Villarreal and Elia Juarez. The team did not place, but they each said they took away experiences that they can apply toward their future careers.
