Why UTRGV?
I chose UTRGV because it is a university that has a sense of hospitality due to our Hispanic heritage, and because of the resources there are for students. UTRGV has helped me reach my goals, and network with the help of my professors and classmates. Additionally, choosing UTRGV meant being closer to the people I love most.

What made you decide on your current major?
I have always been an extrovert who loves to meet new people while having a creative outlet, and marketing offered me that possibility.

What do you hope to achieve beyond completion of your major?
I see myself owning my own marketing agency, while still pursuing a master’s or even a doctorate degree.

What do you like most about UTRGV?
I enjoy having great relationships with my professors, the services and resources provided to students, and most importantly the hospitality and care for students.

What does being a Vaquero mean to you?
Being a Vaquero means to be courageous when confronting an obstacle but being brave enough to be kind in the process. V’s up!

What opportunities has UTRGV helped you find throughout your community?
Volunteering events have been a great opportunity, for finding a job at UTRGV, and networking.

What advice or words of encouragement do you have for fellow students pursuing their degrees?
To never give up, we all go through it, just push through, and remember you are doing it for your younger self.
