Why UTRGV?
I choose UTRGV because I fell in love with the community, ever since I moved here, I have always felt welcome.

What made you decide on your current major?
My dad has been an inspiration for me since I was little, I have seen him making business calls and negotiations since I was little. I admire his hard work, dedication, and passion for sales. For this reason, my interest in marketing started to grow.

What are your greatest strengths and what are some challenges?
My greatest strengths are that I am never afraid of challenges and change. I feel that the pandemic helped me understand and appreciate a part of myself that I did not know before.

What do you hope to achieve beyond completion of your major?
I hope that my work gets too many people, I hope I could promote sustainable practices here in the Valley. I am convinced that by making small changes we can make an impact in our planet.

What do you like most about UTRGV?
What I most like about UTRGV is its faculty and staff. I have built great relationships with my professors. Another thing I love about UTRGV is our campus I love walking through the Bronc Trail with my air pods it helps me disconnect from the world.

What does being a Vaquero mean to you?
Being a Vaquero to me means being courageous and strong. For me, being a Vaquero is persevering, being bilingual, and being a prideful Mexican. Becoming a Vaquero has helped me grow my abilities and knowledge.

What advice do you have for fellow students pursuing degrees during the COVID-19 pandemic?
I will advise them to not let circumstances change their goals, the truth is that earning a degree it’s a challenge. Nevertheless, the satisfaction and the experience you get in the process are priceless.
