UTRGV logos and names are trademarked and protected through the State of Texas. Any collaboration with an external entity, specifically those involving financial agreements, sponsorships, or formal contracts regarding trademark use, must be coordinated through University Marketing and Communications (UMC).
UMC must provide explicit written permission and the approved design format for any external partnership. This ensures that the university's brand is protected in all legally binding agreements and that the co-branding layout meets institutional standards.

Logo Distribution for Media and Events
In instances where the university logo is featured by an outside publication (e.g., event programs, news articles, or community listings) that do not constitute a formal partnership, units must still follow delivery protocols.
To maintain institutional standards and ensure brand accuracy, university units are prohibited from delivering logo files directly to outside entities.
Departments should provide the publication’s contact information to UMC, and our team will provide the correct, high-resolution file. This prevents the accidental distribution of prohibited images that are not for general branding use.
