Why UTRGV?
Great faculty, and good music program.
What made you decide on your current major?
Ever since I was small, I was around music. I heard jazz for the first time in 4th grade and I fell in love with the saxophone.
What do you hope to achieve beyond completion of your major?
My goal is to obtain a masters degree in Jazz Performance, but my overall goal is to become a music educator.
What do you like most about UTRGV?
It offers everything that any other prestigious university can offer. Great programs, great faculty and a beautiful Brownsville campus.
What does being a Vaquero mean to you?
Being a Vaquero to me is looking back and seeing where all my preparation came from and the amazing college journey I had.
What opportunities has UTRGV helped you find throughout your community?
It helped me to network with so many important teachers and professors in the music field in the RGV.
What advice do you have for fellow students pursuing their degrees?
The only way to be successful, and to feel accomplished in life is to put God first in everything that you do.
