Why UTRGV?
Because it allowed me to stay near my family.
What made you decide on your current major?
I have been in the theatre community since | was 6 years old and this has been my passion ever since, so for me l always knew what I wanted to do as my career.
What do you hope to achieve beyond completion of your major?
I will love to work in the television industry and get enough recognition to show the world the RGV and how talented we are, and how proud I am of my Mexican roots and being Latina.
What do you like most about UTRGV?
The faculty is something that is very important for me, and all of my professors will always have a special place in my life because they inspire me every day to be the best version of myself. I have also had a lot of great opportunities that I am thankful for having due to my hard work during my time here at UTRGV.
What does being a Vaquero mean to you?
It means for me that l am part of something, part of my community, some members of my family are proud Vaqueros, and it makes me feel special that I can also share that title of being a Vaquero like them.
What opportunities has UTRGV helped you find throughout your community?
UTRGV has helped me discover what I am capable of doing, and that the sky is the limit. There are a lot of opportunities offered at the Theatre department that involve working with the community.
What advice do you have for fellow students pursuing their degrees?
Follow your dreams, no matter what, because everything in this life is possible, if you work hard enough for it.
