Why UTRGV?
I chose The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley because of its strong sense of community, support, and real-world opportunities. Through my experience working in the design department, I’ve already grown both professionally and creatively. UTRGV offers a balance of academics and hands-on experience that aligns with my goals, making it the right place to continue my education.
What made you decide on your current major?
I chose my major because I’ve always enjoyed being creative and communicating ideas. Visual communication allows me to do both while creating work with purpose.
What do you hope to achieve beyond completion of your major?
I hope to build a career where I can combine creativity and business skills to create work that connects people and makes an impact.
What do you like most about UTRGV?
What I like most about The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is how supportive it is. The professors are approachable, and there are many opportunities to grow and gain experience.
What does being a Vaquero mean to you?
Being a Vaquero means taking pride in where I come from and being part of a community that supports one another.
What opportunities has UTRGV helped you find throughout your community?
UTRGV has helped me secure a job on campus in the design department, where I’ve gained valuable experience and a clearer understanding of my career goals.
What advice do you have for fellow students pursuing their degrees?
Don’t be afraid to try new things and get involved. Ask for help when you need it and take advantage of the opportunities around you.
