Counseling Center
The Counseling Center is a place that provides free and confidential counseling services to address mental health concerns and to promote personal growth for currently enrolled UTRGV students.
Counseling is a process that enables a person to grow in a way that s/he chooses. Students may want to change their behavior, thoughts, or lifestyle to increase self-awareness or to remedy a problem. The counselor’s responsibility is to assist the student as s/he works toward achieving those goals for personal growth and development.
Nursing Mother Suites
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley offers the Nursing Mother Suites to all faculty, staff, and students who are in need of a private, secure, and sanitary location to express breast milk and to provide a comfortable and quiet location to breastfeed a child. The university supports women who are balancing work and study commitments with their needs as mothers of young children.
Academic Health Plans
UT Health RGV Student Health is committed to providing high quality healthcare and a wide range of prevention and education services. We provide accessible, confidential, and cost effective Women's Health Services.
These include routine annual gynecological examinations that include a pelvic exam to detect physical abnormalities, a Pap smear for detection of cervical cancer, screening test for common sexually transmitted disease (STD), a clinical breast exam and instruction on breast self-examination.
Assessment and management of common women's health concerns such as vaginal infections, STD diagnosis and treatment, menstrual irregularities, premenstrual syndrome, pelvic pain, urinary tract infections, breast evaluation and mammogram referral as needed.
Referrals to community healthcare providers and resources are made for services not available at UT Health RGV Student Health.

UTRGV Food Pantry
The UTRGV Student Food Pantry supports currently enrolled students experiencing hunger or food insecurity. If you are a current UTRGV student, you can enroll online or stop by the food pantry during distribution hours.
Vaqueros Report It
Student Rights and Responsibilities provides an online reporting system, called Vaqueros Report It, which allows students, staff and faculty a way to report any potential violations of the Student Code of Conduct, a concerning student behavior or a complaint. The reporting system consists of six categories listed below. If you have any questions about which Vaqueros Report It form to use, contact Student Rights and Responsibilities at 956-665-5375 (Edinburg), 956-882-5141 (Brownsville) or via e-mail at srr@utrgv.edu.
Student Emergency Fund
The purpose of this Student Emergency Fund is to provide limited, last-resort, financial assistance to currently enrolled students who are experiencing a sudden emergency, accident, or unforeseen event that requires additional emergency monetary assistance in order to support their ability to stay enrolled and focused on their academic career.
Award amounts may vary and are only awarded once per year. Decisions regarding the disbursement of funds are made on a case-by-case basis. Awards do not require repayments.
