UTRGV has the distinguished honor to be the first in the UT system to hold the AAAHC accreditation. There are currently only 10 college health facilities accredited in the state of Texas.

Accreditation is a voluntary process through which an ambulatory health care facility is able to measure the quality of its services and performances against nationally recognized standards. Currently only 5% of college health centers are accredited by national accrediting agencies.
