Career & Residency Counseling
Plan for 2024 (Year 3)
All SOPM students receive career guidance from a variety of sources and programs during each year of their podiatric medicine education. A professional development and career counseling program is in place to:
- Help students identify and achieve their personal and professional goals
- Assist student in the process of selecting a career and guide students through the transition from podiatric medical school to residency training

- This web page contains a high-level overview of all the need-to-know information pertaining to clerkship applications, designations, scheduling, and more
- Highlights include direct links to the Clerkship Handbook of Programs, National Clerkship Calendar, and Podiatric Medical School Clerkship Contacts (Clerkship Coordinators)
- AACPM Clerkship Reference Sheet
- This two-page reference sheet details the process of how the students can designate and rank clerkships, as well as the various rounds of offers and designations that students take part in
- Highlights that a student can designate up to four programs per month in round 1, up to eight programs per month in round 2, and up to twelve programs per month in round 3

- This document provides a step-by-step guide with visuals on how to use the DPMClerkships application and how to select and designate your clerkship programs
