Core Curriculum, UNIV Courses, University Catalog and UTRGV Roadmaps are open to every role at the bottom of the left navigation.
What stays greyed out for you
- Add New Roadmap and Catalog Year Rollover in the left navigation
- The pencil and copy icons on each result row
- The Make Editable toggle on an open roadmap
Why you can still see unpublished roadmaps
This is deliberate. Departments can follow a roadmap through revision and approval without needing edit rights. Access controls what you can change, not what you can see.

WHAT TO TAKE FROM THIS
- You land on Browse Roadmaps every time you sign in.
- Filters combine: catalog year, campus, college, level, degree type and program name. Click Search to apply them.
- The eye icon opens a roadmap read-only. The pencil and copy icons are not for you.
- Reference tables are open to you in full — Core Curriculum, UNIV Courses, and links out to the University Catalog and the published roadmaps.
TRY IT IN THE PORTAL
- Filter Browse Roadmaps to your own college and the current catalog year.
- Open one of your department's roadmaps with the eye icon.
- Move to Year 2 and change the semester dropdown to Spring. Read what the student takes that term.
- Open Core Curriculum under REFERENCE and find the approved courses for category 40, Language, Philosophy and Culture.
