Registration is available online through ASSIST (Advanced Services for Student Information Supported by Technology). You can login to myUTRGV with your UTRGV username and password and click on the ASSIST icon under the Applications area.
Traditional and accelerated students may not register in more than the maximum allowed credit hours per term as shown here. Approval must be obtained for exceptions.

Classification
Undergraduate students are classified according to the number of hours of college credit they have
earned:
Post-baccalaureate students are those who hold a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited
institution.
Instructions to Access Your Number of Credit Hours
Log in to my.utrgv.edu with your username and password
Click on the ASSIST application
Click Student Profile tile,
Select Academic Record, from the links available and click Submit
Select your Level and Transcript Type
Scroll to the bottom of the page, sum overall Earned Hours with currently enrolled hours
About ASSIST
ASSIST provides a variety of online services to UTRGV students regarding registration, financial aid, payment, and grades. For your security, ASSIST requires that you enter your username and password to access your financial aid, payment and transcript records. Registration is available to currently enrolled students and applicants who have been accepted for admission to UTRGV.
Registration Instructions
Log in to ASSIST via my.utrgv.edu with your username and password
Locate section APPLICATIONS
Click on ASSIST
Click on Registration
Click on Register/Drop Classes
Select a Term
Search for Class(es). This will give you different options regarding Time, Days, location, and Professor.
Choose the class you are interested in and click Add to place in your schedule summary.
Click on Submit to register for the class(es).
Plan Ahead
Why Plan Ahead Planner?
Schedule Planning is a new feature of Banner ASSIST that allows you to build possible schedules in advance of registration.
An advisor may approve plans as well as create plans for the student. When the student's registration access opens, the student can register more quickly by registering from their plans.
When can I Plan Ahead?
Log into ASSIST under my.UTRGV.edu and go to the Student Services, select Registration, and then Plan Ahead. You will be able to create plans for the available terms from the drop-down listing of terms(s).
