A student hold may be placed on your account due to several reasons and it can prevent you from adding or dropping courses, requesting a transcript, seeing your final grades, requesting an emergency loan, etc.
Follow these steps to find out if you have a hold:

The Emergency Tuition Loan hold will be automatically removed after account is paid in full. This process may take up to 2 – 3 business days.
This hold prevents: Viewing grades, receiving diploma, & requesting institutional loan.
Other consequences: Create a state hold, negatively impact the student’s credit score, personal loans, estate purchase, etc.

Complete the mandatory online course(s) survey you received in your email and call the Student Rights and Responsibilities office at (956) 665-5375 or email at srr@utrgv.edu after completion of the courses to remove the hold.

- Select the ASSIST icon
- An Action Item will be displayed upon successful login if you meet the criteria to complete the agreement
- Select ‘View Action Item(s)
- Acknowledge and save the Financial Responsibility Agreement
This hold is placed when a graduate student does not meet specific academic requirements such as but not limited to; completing required appeal conditions, maintaining a certain GPA, or fulfilling thesis or dissertation requirements. Contact the Graduate College at (956) 665-3661.
