Waitlisting
Students may add themselves to a waitlist only through the ASSIST self-service registration system. Signing up for a waitlist is not a guarantee that the student will get a spot in the class. If a seat becomes available, the student will be emailed a notification indicating they may register in the class, along with the date and time when their opportunity to register expires. Students are responsible for monitoring their UTRGV email daily. If the notice to register expires before the student enrolls in the class, the system will send a notification to the next designated student on the waitlist.
General Guidelines
Waitlisting does NOT guarantee a seat will become available in the class.
Linked lab classes, (i.e. BIOL 1406, PHYS 1401) will not have a waitlist option. Students may waitlist in the lecture class, and once a spot becomes available in the lecture, the lab class may be selected to register in both the lecture and lab at the same time.
Cross-listed classes have a combined class capacity; therefore, students will need to waitlist in the class even if the individual class shows seats available.
If you drop a class in error, and in your attempt to re-add it notice there is a waitlist, you will need to add yourself to the waiting list.
Waitlisted courses do not count towards enrolled hours.
All pre-requisite, registration restrictions, and registration hold apply when waitlisting in a course.
Students are NOT automatically enrolled in a course from the waitlist. Students must take action to enroll.
If a course is tailored for a specific student such as thesis students, a waitlist option may not be available to other students.
