Podiatric medical student organizations and specialty interest groups provide opportunities for students to attend educational meetings and conferences sponsored by local, regional, national, and even international professional associations. Through their participation, students gain knowledge about various specialties and may consider becoming active student members of one or more professional associations. The SOPM Office of Student Affairs supports these extracurricular organizations as a valuable way for students to explore career interests.
