Plan for 2025 (Year 3) 

All SOPM students receive career guidance from a variety of sources and programs during each year of their podiatric medicine education. A professional development and career counseling program is in place to:  

  • Help students identify and achieve their personal and professional goals. 
  • Assist students in the process of selecting a career and guide students through the transition from podiatric medical school to residency training.

AACPM Clerkship Overview 
  • This web page contains a high-level overview of all the need-to-know information pertaining to clerkship applications, designations, scheduling, and more. 
  • Highlights include direct links to the Clerkship Handbook of Programs, National Clerkship Calendar, and Podiatric Medical School Clerkship Contacts (Clerkship Coordinators). 
     
AACPM Clerkship Reference Sheet 
  • This two-page reference sheet details the process of how the students can designate and rank clerkships, as well as the various rounds of offers and designations in which students take part. 
  • Highlights that a student can designate up to four programs per month in round 1, up to eight programs per month in round 2, and up to twelve programs per month in round 3. 
     
AACPM Guide for Using DPMClerkships 
  • This document provides a step-by-step guide with visuals on how to use the DPMClerkships application and how to select and designate your clerkship programs. 
  • This guide includes screenshots of the DPMClerkships application and walks students through how to successfully complete the application. It also demonstrates how to use the application to participate in the three rounds of offers and designations. 
     
AACPM Guide for Using DPMClerkships in Offer Rounds 
  • This document provides a step-by-step guide with visuals on how to use the DPMClerkships application during the offer rounds, specifically. 
  • This guide explains how to participate in each of the three offer rounds, as well as the different statuses students will see from an application. 
     
APMA Residency Guide 
  • This comprehensive 24-page residency guide covers everything students need to know about applying for residency, the match process, and more. 
  • This document includes detailed sections on clerkship and program visits, the interview process, CASPR rankings, and CASPR Match Day. 
     
APMLE Exam Schedule 
  • Links to the APMLE website with an overview of the upcoming exam schedules and an overview of how to schedule exams.
