The Office of Student Affairs at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) School of Podiatric Medicine (SOPM) is critical to our students’ experience. The work done by student affairs professionals helps our students begin a lifetime journey of growth and self-exploration.

It is our mission to ensure the success of all podiatric medical students as they progress through their training. We are committed to working with our students to enhance the learning experience and enable each one to achieve their maximum potential.

SOPM offers an effective academic advising system that integrates the efforts of faculty members, module directors, and clerkship directors. Part of our growth plan involves expanding our services to include student affairs counseling and tutorial support. These additions ensure that podiatric medical students have access to academic guidance from individuals who are not involved in their assessment or promotion decisions.
