Responsability
Position Overview
Responsible for directly supervising various UREC activities, including, but not limited to Sport Club competitions and practices, Outdoor Adventures programming, and open recreation.
Major Duties
- Assist in the growth of UREC programming on the Brownsville campus. An outgoing, enthusiastic personality is a must
- Assist in marketing programs including information tables, campus visits, handouts, etc.
- Enforce the established rules and regulations for UREC in a fair, prudent and professional manner.
- Manage participant rosters for all programming
- Assist with the development of all Sport Clubs, including growth, officer trainings, participant training and experiences, etc.
- Administer first aid when required.
- Check facility for any potential hazards.
- Responsible for Game Day management for home sport club events including setup and teardown.
- Assist in leading Outdoor Adventures programming, including driving for trips
- Review and suggest updates for handbooks, policies and rules
- Maintain Sport Club Records and Eligibility with organizations, leagues, etc.
- Assist with enforcement of policies and procedures of Garza Gymnasium and Duckhead Soccer Complex
- Assist with publicity of UREC events
- Assist with the daily operations of the office, including one-on-one club meetings, overseeing practices, equipment check out, and maintaining inventory.
- Perform other duties assigned.
Qualifications
Must be a current student (fall/spring, min. 12 hrs). Student must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. An interest in University Recreation and its programming is preferred but not required. Must have fundamental knowledge and understanding of all sport rules.
Requirements
Evening and Weekend hours required.
