Members are defined as current students, faculty and staff, alumni, and retirees. Annual memberships have the option of being deducted on a monthly basis via credit card. Semester membership fees must be paid in full at the time of enrollment. Payment options include cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, and Discover.
Please note membership fees are subject to change. All members shall receive notification of rate increases prior to implementation. Annual membership rates will be honored until such membership is up for renewal.
Restrictions may apply to dependent and extended family memberships.

This membership may be obtained by anyone currently employed by UTRGV or anyone who has a record of previous employment at UTRGV , UTB or UTPA. Retirees will need to be verified by Human Resources.
Spouse can obtain a membership if the faculty/staff is employed at the time or purchase.
What's needed to obtain a membership?
- A valid picture ID (driver's license or state ID)
- UTRGV Faculty / Staff ID (if applicable)
- Spouses are to be accompanied by UTRGV Faculty/Staff employee (must bring their UTRGV Faculty / Staff ID)
- If UTRGV Faculty / Staff cannot accompany their spouse, arrangements can be made by emailing recreservations@utrgv.edu prior to purchase
What's needed to obtain a membership?

- An official or unofficial transcript from UTRGV, UTPA or UTB or a copy of diploma
- Spouses are to be accompanied by Alumni at time of purchase with alumni proof as well as provide a current bill or legal contract with both names proving legal marriage or cohabitation
- If alumni cannot accompany their spouse, arrangements can be made by emailing recreservations@utrgv.edu prior to purchase

ELIGIBILITY
- Access to UREC is available to students at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley during the semester for which they are registered and have paid the recreation fee. If unsure, verification of recreation fees can be found on the online student bill.
- Students are required to present their UTRGV student ID upon entry to UREC. Students have (1) pass per semester to enter UREC without their UTRGV student ID.
- Enrollment in university extension courses does not qualify individuals for access to UREC.
NOT TAKING SUMMER CLASSES?
- Spring semester students registered for the following fall semester are eligible to purchase a student summer membership.
- Future students who are admitted for the upcoming fall semester may purchase a student summer membership, but must already have a valid UTRGV student ID.

Children ages 4 to 17 are welcome into the facility with adult supervision during family hours. Family Hours are extended to normal operating hours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of fall and spring semester. And during University published holidays, semester breaks and summer sessions. Approved special programs may allow children under 4 years of age into the facility.
