Why UTRGV?
Because I was having financial problems and UTRGV was willing to help with my tuition. I am grateful for this decision because I met wonderful people, and it has provided me with amazing exposure in the engineering field.

What made you decide on your current major?
I had a lot of struggles making this decision but talking with my professors, my parents and friends helped me decide that mechanical engineering would be the best for me because it would give all the tools I needed to become an amazing engineer.

What do you hope to achieve beyond completion of your major?
Get a job that provides for me and my future family, as well as give me the opportunity to keep growing as an engineer.

What do you like most about UTRGV?
In my four years at UTRGV, I liked how the professors care for the students, how engineer students helped each other and the thing I liked most is the people at the Dean’s Office that always supported me and helped in the last two years.

What does being a Vaquero mean to you?
It means being inclusive, helpful, and diverse.

What opportunities has UTRGV helped you find throughout your community?
UTRGV helped me make connections throughout my entire educational career, which included providing me with opportunities for networking, internships, and career development.

What advice do you have for fellow students pursuing their degrees?
Building a good network early will help you a lot and enjoy every second of your time in college.
