Why UTRGV?
UTRGV provides the greatest value in higher education in Texas. A world-class education for one of the most affordable prices in the state. I could not pass on that.

What made you decide on your major?
As a first-year student right out of high school, I did not want to come in undecided, so I enrolled in the College of Business and Entrepreneurship (COBE) with my current majors. Then, I took a few business classes my first semester as part of the core. I excelled in those classes, and I met great people. That was when I realized that the COBE was the right place for me.

What are your plans after graduation?
I strongly believe UTRGV has provided me with the skills necessary to excel in this 21st century workforce. Nonetheless, I am extremely interested in pursuing a master’s degree right after completing my bachelor’s degree. After finishing my education, I want to join the workforce. In the long-term future, I would like to run my own business here in the Rio Grande Valley, and if everything goes well, serve in public office and aid in the development of our region.

What are you involved in on and off campus?
I currently serve as the UTRGV student government president. Other than that, I always like to stay engaged with the organizations from the College of Business and Entrepreneurship. They help provide great skills for business students, and in my opinion, have some of the best student leaders in our university.

What is your biggest accomplishment to date?
I had the honor of serving as the final UTPA student government president. This year I get to hold the same position, but now for UTRGV. This, without a doubt, is what I consider my most significant accomplishment so far in college (aside from academics). As an international student with English as my second language, getting to where I am now seemed like a long-shot.

What advice do you have for future students?
If you take the right steps toward your goals, anything is possible.  You can either decide to be great, or to take the easy way out of college. It is 100 percent up to you, and that is the beauty about our college years. Support your friends and family. They will always be there for you.
