Responsible for directly supervising various UREC activities, including, but not limited to Sport Club competitions and practices, Outdoor Adventures programming, and open recreation.

Responsibility
Position OverviewThis position is responsible for supervising a safe environment on the fitness floor.
Major Duties
- Assist and educate patrons on how to properly set up and utilize a wide variety of weight and cardio machines.
- Communicate and enforce policies and procedures.
- Ensure there is not misuse or abuse of machines.
- Provide proper spotting for weight room participants.
- Assist with the marketing efforts of fitness/wellness programs.
- Maintain assigned areas for cleanliness and patron safety.
- Clean and maintain fitness equipment.
- Monitor members/guest for any potential medical emergencies.
- Provide customer service and communicate with participants and staff.
- Assist with emergency situations and evacuations when necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must be a current student or a student pre-registered for the upcoming long semester (fall/spring). Student must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0
Preferred
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Previous experience in a health and fitness setting
- Major in Kinesiology, Dance, Health/Wellness, Exercise Science, or related field
- Excellent customer service

Responsibility
Position OverviewProvides assistance to the Fitness Coordinator with implementation and development of programs, services and special events.
Major Duties
- Assist Fitness Coordinator in managing fitness/wellness staff.
- Assist in overseeing fitness/wellness programs such as group fitness, personal training and other special programs.
- Track and prepare monthly program participant reports.
- Assist with marketing efforts of fitness/wellness programs.
- Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of fitness/wellness programs.
- Record and maintain equipment inventory for fitness/wellness programs.
- Assist with daily operations of the office.
- Enforce the established policies and procedures for the recreational facility in a fair, prudent and professional manner.
- Assist with departmental special events.
- Assist with emergency situations and evacuations when necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience in health/fitness/wellness setting
- Excellent customer service
Preferred
Experience in a leadership role and previous experience in a health and fitness environment

Position OverviewGroup Exercise Instructors are responsible for leading safe, fun, and effective group workout sessions. Instructor hours are dependent on class offerings and instructor availability
Major Duties
- Plan, develop and instruct safe, fun and well-rounded exercise classes using approved exercise guidelines and principles.
- Ensure safety of participants by understanding general signs and symptoms of physical exertion.
- Provide exercise modifications to allow for a variety of fitness levels and abilities.
- Ensure safety of participants by reporting any facility problems.
- Advise participants on routine exercise questions.
- Enforce policies and procedures in a fair, prudent and professional manner.
- Provide customer service and communicates with staff and patrons.
- Perform other duties as assigned.¿¿
Qualifications
- NCCA accredited Primary or Group Fitness Instructor certification (i.e. ACE, AFAA) and/or nationally recognized specialty certification (i.e. Zumba, Spinning)
- CPR/First Aid certification (i.e. American Red Cross, American Heart Association)
- Excellent customer service

- Kinesiology or Health/Wellness/Exercise Science major

Major Duties
- Assist individuals with setting appropriate lifestyle goals.
- Create exercise prescriptions for members based on individual goals.
- Schedule and administer fitness assessments/InBodys
- Provide exercise modifications to allow for a variety of fitness levels and abilities.
- Observe and instruct members for proper technique, body posture and movements for safety.
- Council members on fitness, basic nutrition, and injury prevention.
- Document patrons' fitness progress regularly
- Assist with any fitness programs and/or health fairs.
- Lead group training fitness classes
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
