Responsible for directly supervising various UREC activities, including, but not limited to Aquatics competitions and practices, Outdoor Adventures programming, and open recreation.

Programming
Major Duties
- Assist in the growth of UREC programming on the Brownsville campus. An outgoing, enthusiastic personality is a must.
- Assist in marketing programs including information tables, campus visits, handouts, etc.
- Enforce the established rules and regulations for UREC in a fair, prudent and professional manner.
- Manage participant rosters for all programming.
- Administer first aid when required.
- Check facility for any potential hazards.
- Review and suggest updates for handbooks, policies and rules.
- Assist with enforcement of policies and procedures of Duckhead Soccer Complex.
- Assist with publicity of UREC events.
- Assist with the daily operations of the office; office aid duties, equipment check out, and maintaining inventory.
- Have a general knowledge of and enforce all UREC regulations and policies.
- Must attend all scheduled meetings and in-services.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the University Recreation staff.
Fitness/ Wellness
Major Duties- Assist Fitness and Wellness Coordinator in managing fitness/wellness staff.
- Assist in overseeing fitness/wellness programs such as group fitness, personal training and other special programs.
- Track and prepare monthly program participant reports.
- Assist with marketing efforts of fitness/wellness programs.
- Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of fitness/wellness programs.
- Record and maintain equipment inventory for fitness/wellness programs.
- Must be a current student or a student pre-registered for the upcoming long semester (fall/spring, min. 12 hrs).
- Student must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
- Evening and Weekend hours may be required.
- An interest in University Recreation and its programming is preferred but not required.
- Must have fundamental knowledge and understanding of all sport rules.

Marketing and Communication Street Team Responsibilities
Position Overview
To provide frontline marketing for University Recreation, and help plan, coordinate, and execute marketing efforts. This position is responsible for creating design solutions that have a high visual impact, including, but not limited to video, photo, and print media.
Major Duties
- Contribute ideas and design artwork that supports the department mission.
- Assist in the development of designs by gathering information and data through research.
- Manage, track and report project requests.
- Represent department at fairs and events on/off campus.
- Assist in the managing of social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest, YouTube).
- Posts literature and signage promoting various department events, activities and programs.

Outdoor Adventure
Major Duties
- Assist in leading Outdoor Adventures programming, including driving for trips Assist University Recreation professional staff with the day-to-day operation of the outdoor trips program.
- Providing participants with necessary information and skills, completing required paperwork, meeting professional standards in various skill areas and maintaining participant safety.
- Complete and maintain checklists as they pertain to your shift.
- Work on developing/improving outdoor skills and instruction (paddle strokes, navigation, gear repair, etc.)
- Help promote trips.
- Assist with logistics & trip planning.
- Aid with preparation for pre-trip meetings.
- Inspect and pack group gear.
- Assist with conducting outdoor clinics and workshops.
- Clean and return gear.
- Participate and assist in post-trip meetings and evaluations.
- Know and enforce rules and regulations according to University Recreation Employee Manual Rules and Regulations.
