Message from the President - December 05, 2017

We are pleased to report that the SACSCOC Board announced today that UTRGV has successfully addressed the concerns cited in its probationary letter of January 11, 2017. UTRGV remains accredited and the academic and administrative operations of the institution will continue as they have in the past.

Message from the President - November 15, 2017

Thank you for your efforts this past year. As we enter our third year as UTRGV, we have a great deal to be proud of. Some but by no means all of your accomplishments have been highlighted in news stories over the past year and as part of the annual report focused on core priorities and the Provost’s report with college highlights. I encourage you to read both.

Message from the President - October 20, 2017

As shared in my October 6, 2017 message, we welcomed a SACSCOC special committee of our peers to campus earlier this week. Since January, we have worked with the campus community to address each of the concerns expressed in the official letter from SACSCOC, with our SACSCOC Vice President advising us throughout the process. Our goal and that of SACSCOC has been to ensure that each concern is addressed completely and to ensure that policies and processes are in place to ensure future compliance with the Commission standards. We prepared diligently for this visit and deeply appreciate the hard work and support of all of you throughout this year.

Message from the President: Private Gifts Policy - October 13, 2017

I am proud to announce that the Office of Development has, once again, surpassed their fundraising goal. We ended the fiscal year at more than $33 million raised through private philanthropy, which shows that donors believe in the great work that we are doing at UTRGV.

Message from the President - October 06, 2017

As shared in my January 19, 2017, letter to the campus community, The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) was notified in December 2016, that we were being placed on probation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). The probation is for a period of 12 months and will require SACSCOC Board action during its December 2017 meeting.

Message from the President - September 05, 2017

As the national conversation on immigration and DACA continues to evolve, I want to reaffirm that each student, staff, and faculty member who makes up our UTRGV community is an important part of our university family.

Office of Institutional Equity - August 29, 2017

On August 22, 2017, Florence R. Nocar was named Interim Director of the Office of Institutional Equity and Title IX Coordinator. In her role, she will be advancing UTRGV’s commitment to equal access, equity, non-discrimination, and to diversity and inclusion on behalf of students, faculty, and staff.

Campus Closure - August 24, 2017

The safety of our students, faculty and staff is our top priority. Therefore, due to the imminent threat of Hurricane Harvey on the Texas Gulf Coast, The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) is closing all campuses and locations Friday, August 25, and Saturday, August 26.

Academic Affairs Transition Update - August 18, 2017
