I am proud to announce that the Office of Development has, once again, surpassed their fundraising goal. We ended the fiscal year at more than $33 million raised through private philanthropy, which shows that donors believe in the great work that we are doing at UTRGV.
While we have made great strides in this area, we still have a long way to go. It is imperative that everyone work closely with development on all private funding matters- this includes requests to individuals, corporations, foundations and fundraising through special events.
I urge you to read HOP Policy 10-803 Gifts – Solicitation, Acceptance, Processing, and Acknowledgment, which prohibits anyone from contacting donors or prospective donors without contacting the Office of Development to obtain approval. We do this so we can coordinate all donor contacts and solicitations.
