Message from the President

December 5, 2017

Dear Campus Community:

We are pleased to report that the SACSCOC Board announced today that UTRGV has successfully addressed the concerns cited in its probationary letter of January 11, 2017. UTRGV remains accredited and the academic and administrative operations of the institution will continue as they have in the past. However, UTRGV remains on probationary status pending a SACSCOC review of the Statewide Single Audit for FY 2017 conducted by the Texas State Auditor’s Office; the audit report is scheduled to be released in February 2018. The SACSCOC Board is scheduled to review the results of the audit and UTRGV’s resolution of any findings at the December 2018 annual meeting.

As a reminder, UTRGV remains accredited. As such, graduate and undergraduate degrees earned are awarded by an accredited university.

Just as we successfully addressed all of the issues before, we are confident that this issue will also be addressed successfully. We will receive official notification and further documentation from SACSCOC in mid-January. Please visit our accreditation page for additional information.

Sincerely,

Guy Bailey
UTRGV President
