The Department of Bilingual and Literacy Studies is dedicated to supporting the education of our diverse student population in monolingual, bilingual, and multilingual settings.

Department of Counseling seeks to be the catalyst for the education and mental well-being of individuals, families, communities, the region, and our society-at-large, thereby demonstrating responsiveness to the mental health needs of the people of the Rio Grande Valley.

The Department of Organization and School Leadership strives to prepare educational leaders who will transform educational institutions into better places for all individuals, regardless of age or background.

In the Department of Human Development and School Services (HDSS), students learn to develop healthy knowledge across cultures and lifespans and apply these skills in schools and other settings. HDSS students acquire practical knowledge and flexible thinking.

As the Department of Teaching and Learning at one of the largest Hispanic Serving Institutions in the United States, we take pride in producing bilingual and Latinx teachers, instructional coaches, curriculum leaders, and education researchers for the region, the state, and beyond.
