Academic College Affairs Overview
The College of Education and P-16 Integration’s (CEP) mission is to provide rigorous programs of study to undergraduate and graduate students. Curricular and technological innovation, curricular decisions, curriculum changes, and the development of new academic programs play a significant role in the vitality of any college.
In the spirit of shared governance, CEP faculty have a Curriculum Committee, an Educator Preparation Council with faculty subcommittees, the Teacher Education Program Committee, and the Graduate Program Committee to advance the mission of creating high-quality academic programs.
Committee Voting Process
Curricular changes are subject to the following committee voting process for approval.
- Department or Program Faculty Initiate Change
- Department Chair Review
- College of Education and P-16 Integration Curriculum Committee Review
- Dean Review
- University Curriculum Committee or Graduate Council
College Bylaws
Our Bylaws provide a framework within which the faculty of the College of Education and P-16 Integration participate in the educational and decision-making processes of the College. These Bylaws are valid to the extent that they comply with policies, procedures, and processes set forth by the State of Texas, The University of Texas System Regents’ Rules and Regulations, The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Handbook of Operating Procedures (HOP), and the Guidelines established by the Office of the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs .
