Initiatives Overview

Counseling and Training Clinic

The Counseling and Training Clinic is the instructional laboratory of the Master of Education in Counseling Program. The clinic offers growth-enhancing experiences, as well as preventative and early treatment for developmental, emotional, and interpersonal difficulties.

Mobile Literacy Unit

The Mobile Literacy Unit (MLU) is a community outreach vehicle that travels across the Rio Grande Valley to provide low-income children with equitable literacy opportunities.

Charles Butt Scholarship

The Charles Butt Scholarships for Aspiring Teachers consists of $8,000-$10,000 in annual funding for up to four years, as well as ongoing professional development opportunities, mentorship from sitting public school educators, and participation in a statewide aspiring teachers network facilitated by the Raise Your Hand Texas Foundation.
