The Office of Interprofessional Education (IPE) at the UTRGV School of Medicine brings students, faculty, and practitioners across health professions together to strengthen interprofessional collaborative practice and team-based care.
Interprofessional Education Defined
When students from two or more professions learn about, from, and with each other to enable effective collaboration and improve health outcomes (Word Health Organization, 2010).
Mission
Our mission is to educate and prepare medical and health professions students in interprofessional communication and collaborative practice to improve the quality of patient care in the Rio Grande Valley and beyond.
Vision
Our vision is to be a national leader in the development of compassionate health care professionals who transform health care delivery through excellent interprofessional collaborative practice.
