Welcome to the Maternal Health Research Center
Consistent with UTRGV’s mission to support sustainable development, community engagement, and well-being, the UTRGV MHRC’s two primary goals are to:
- plan and implement multidisciplinary maternal health research studies to inform relevant, culturally appropriate, and peer-led interventions to address health disparities in our border region and beyond and
- increase the capacity for maternal health research at UTRGV.
Mission
To build regional capacity to conduct community engaged research to design and evaluate evidence-based, community focused solutions to transform maternal health in the region and beyond.
Focus Statement
Goal 1: The UTRGV MHRC will plan and implement multidisciplinary, community-engaged, maternal health research studies to inform relevant, culturally appropriate, and peer-led interventions to transform health in our region and beyond.
Goal 2: Increase the capacity for maternal health disparity research at UTRGV.
Goal 3: Develop manuscripts to be published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Goal 4: Disseminate and translate research findings into practice.
