UTRGV P-16 Outreach and Testing Services Mission Statement

The P-16 Outreach and Testing Services office is dedicated to supporting students, educators, and our community with access to rigorous academic programs, relevant professional development, and a state-of-the-art testing environment. All programs are carried out supporting the VAQUERO Culture of Service Excellence providing a safe and secure environment for participants and examinees. The UTRGV Testing Center adheres to the NCTA Professional Standards and Guidelines. We are committed to developing partnerships with local school districts and educators, supporting incoming students, and engaging our community in developing a college going culture in the Rio Grande Valley.

 ATTENTION: Weather Advisory: What Testing Candidates Should Know

Testing Department's Message Below

UTRGV officials are monitoring developing weather that is expected to bring thunderstorms, widespread rain, and possible flooding to our region tomorrow (Thursday, October 1, 2026) through the weekend.

 

At this time, testing is expected to continue as scheduled. However, if weather conditions affect testing operations or the university announces a closure, Testing Services will provide updates to candidates as soon as possible.

 

If you have an upcoming exam, please take the following steps:

  • Check your registered contact information, particularly your mobile phone number, to ensure you can receive notifications from Testing Services.
  • Monitor your email for updates from UTRGV Testing Services regarding your scheduled exam.
  • Please do not assume your exam has been canceled or postponed unless you receive an official notification from UTRGV Testing Services.
  • If testing operations are affected, candidates will be provided with information regarding rescheduling and next steps.

Proper documentation must be on file and up to date with the Student Accessibility Services office. Please call (956) 665-7005 at least two weeks prior to the exam date.

Keep in mind that not all tests can be retaken.  Be sure to secure your approval before registration.
