THECB Collegiate Mentorship Program

Go Centers and Collegiate G-Force (CGF) Mentors offer mentoring, educational support and training services to Rio Grande Valley (RGV) High Schools and the general community. A Go Center is located within the high school and is similar to a career center, where students can get assistance on college applications, scholarships, and general college readiness support. The CGF Mentors are college students pursuing their undergraduate or graduate degree at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and other selected institutions in the state of Texas. These mentors promote and educate all students visiting the Go-Center about the importance of a higher education, while offering support to partnership high schools and their counselors. This program was created utilizing a grant from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) Work-Study Mentorship Program.
