Director's Message
Welcome to the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley P-16 Outreach and Testing Services Center. As part of the Office of College Access and K-12 Partnerships, we are building a bridge between the university and our community. We promise to provide high-quality testing services, student support, and educator training to students, educators, and community members. We have two testing centers: one in Edinburg, Texas, at the Community Engagement and Student Success Building, 1407 E. Freddy Gonzalez Drive (located at the corner of Freddy Gonzalez Drive and Expressway 281), room 1.102. The second, located in Brownsville, Texas, is at 101 Saint Joseph Dr., at St. Joseph's Academy. A student outreach office located on the Edinburg Campus, Emilia Hall 2.205 (corner of University and Sugar Road).
We boast modern testing facilities with easy access and a genuine welcoming hospitality for its visitors. A wide variety of assessments are offered, including: CLEP, GMAT, GRE, PRAXIS, TExES CAT, TSIA2, TOEFL iBT, ACT National, GRE Subject, SAT, GED, and Credit by Exam.
Our student services provide students and their families access to rigorous academic programs that raise awareness of college and academic preparation. Programs are designed to provide a smooth transition to higher education and increase the number of students who are prepared to enter and succeed in a postsecondary setting.
Moreover, we offer training opportunities for teachers through our partnership with the College Board’s Advanced Placement Summer Institutes led by College Board National Consultants. Through our partnership, local educators have access to the highly sought-after national APSI professional development in their own backyard. The Substitute Teacher Certification course is designed to prepare participants in classroom management, professionalism, and teaching techniques, giving them valuable tools to succeed in the classroom.
Please visit or call us year-round for your testing, program, or training needs. Together, we will continue to positively transform our community.
