Bravo Vaqueros Awards
The Bravo Vaqueros expanded recognition opportunity serves to honor outstanding employees who genuinely and consistently demonstrate the Vaqueros Culture of Service Excellence qualities and values.
The following award categories will be recognized during the annual Employee Service Recognition event held in the Spring. Bravo Vaqueros are encouraged throughout the year; however, the timeframe for the upcoming Bravo Vaquero recognition considerations will be between May 1, 2021, to March 1, 2022, and meet the eligibility requirements*.
Bravo Vaqueros Outstanding Award
Employees receiving the highest number of qualifying Bravo Vaqueros in each category of the Vaquero Culture of Service Excellence qualities and values by the identified deadline.
Bravo Vaqueros Star Award
Employees receiving qualifying Bravo Vaqueros for each of the eight Vaqueros Culture of Service Excellence qualities and values by the identified deadline.
Bravo Vaqueros Spirit Award
UTRGV division with the highest number of qualifying Bravo Vaqueros by the identified deadline
Eligibility & Requirements
Eligibility Criteria
- UTRGV active employee
- Good standing performance status with corresponding Department and Human Resources (not under formal disciplinary action).
Bravo VAQUEROS Recognition qualification must meet the following
- Abide by Bravo VAQUEROS submission guidelines of meaningful acknowledgments as indicated online at Bravo Vaqueros.
- Submission should indicate the VAQUEROS Culture of Service Excellence principle and include a description of the meaningful demonstration exemplifying the recognition.
- Qualifying candidates for individual recognitions require the previous completion of Vaquero Culture of Service Excellence training.
- Actions being recognized occurred during the corresponding recognition timeframe.
- Bravo VAQUEROS qualifying submissions cannot be duplicates or more than three (3) from the same peer employee.
- Complete processing of Bravo VAQUEROS submission, approval, and posting by the recognition deadline.
