UTRGV's International Center for Sustainability Across Curriculum (ICSAC)
In December 2016, UTRGV was selected as one of 13 national centers for a competitive program, chosen from 40 applicants. This recognition was largely due to the success of its Project Sin Fronteras (PSF), launched in 2014.
PSF integrates sustainability into UTRGV’s curriculum, with 55 faculty across eight colleges delivering over 300 courses to more than 5,100 students. The Office for Sustainability (OFS), in partnership with the Provost’s Office, oversees the initiative.
Through this collaboration, UTRGV will engage global partners, Texas institutions, and border communities. Faculty will be encouraged to incorporate sustainability into existing or new programs, with OFS continuing to bring in national experts and support from local faculty.
