We offer one-on-one research appointments (in person or online), online research requests, and instructional sessions for your classes.

Special Collections and Archives hosts virtual (asynchronous/synchronous) and traditional (in-person) informational sessions for our UTRGV faculty and students, including research instruction, collections orientations, tours, and assignment-based research projects.

- Instructional sessions are limited to 20 students; larger groups should consider booking multiple sessions.
Research Guides. Special Collections & Archives has compiled research guides on popular topics to assist students and new researchers with finding primary and secondary sources. Each guide provides entry level research with links to resources. Topics relate to History & Culture, History & the Environment, People & Families, Genealogy Research, Oral History Interviews, and much more.
Course Guides. We have also worked with faculty to compile course guides to support interdisciplinary research using early photographic processes and oral history interviews.
Researchers must make their own assessments of rights based on their intended use, including determination of existing copyright, possible restrictions on reuse of materials, and permission to publish or distribute materials found in our collections.
