Resources for Students

The Research and Instructional Services Department is a team of experts - dedicated to helping you to make advanced progress on your collegiate journey at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. We offer virtual research consultations, in-person consultations, research guides, video tutorials, and scholarly support to ensure you reach your academic goals.

Students can meet with a Librarian for research assistance and guidance in accessing the library's vast resources. Instruction is offered as personal one-on-one sessions via virtual appointments or in-person consultations.

The A-Z Database List allows users to find and search individual databases that the UTRGV University Library subscribes to.

Librarians created Research Guides as a one-stop-shop for compiling information solely dedicated towards researching for a specific course. On these Research Guides, you will find pages focusing on database searches, eBooks, articles, videos, and reputable websites.

Recorded videos provided by the Research and Instructional Services librarians provide context to the University Library databases, details on what's included in those databases, and demonstrations of searching techniques.

The UTRGV University Library is committed to improving our services. Our better understanding of your expectations will help us tailor our services to meet your needs. We are conducting this survey to measure library service quality and identify our best practices. This survey will take 10 minutes to complete. Thank you for your participation.
