All departments, university-wide, participate in a four-year assessment cycle called the New Assessment Framework. Each year, the University Library will evaluate programs and services by assessing four areas: Librarian Presence in the Classroom, Professional Development, Enhanced Student Experience, and Resource Satisfaction.  At the beginning of the assessment cycle, the library created outcomes, benchmarks, and collection plans for each area.  Data is collected and evaluated at the end of each period (May) and both the expected outcomes and assessment process are evaluated and adjusted for the upcoming year via a series of meetings with involved departments.  The assessment cycle is intended to be a process of self discovery and improvement and should clarify how to the library can identify goals and better meet the needs of its patrons.
