Parents and family members are welcome to contact the Dean of Students Office whenever they are concerned about their student’s well-being. You can:
- Request that a Case Manager reach out to your student.
- Consult with us about how to handle a situation involving your student.

Please note: Case Managers cannot share specific student information (such as grades, class schedules, or financial details) without the student’s written permission, per FERPA guidelines. However, we can share general information about university policies and resources.

- How do I know if an issue is appropriate for Case Management?

- If you're concerned about your student's well-being, it’s appropriate to reach out. Case Managers will support your student and guide them to the right resources.
- If there is an immediate safety concern (e.g., danger to self or others, threats, or a medical emergency), call 911 or Campus Police at 956-882-4911.

- What is the difference between Case Management and the Counseling Center?

- Case Management offers resource coordination, advocacy, and support for challenges affecting academic or personal success. The role is similar to a social worker.
- The Counseling Center provides free and confidential therapy services for mental health concerns and personal development.
