  • Data.gov - "The Home of the U.S. Government's Open Data. Here you will find data, tools, and resources to conduct research, develop web and mobile applications, design data visualizations, and more."
  • Census.gov - "The Census Bureau's mission is to serve as the nation’s leading provider of quality data about its people and economy."
    • Explore Census Data - This search tool allows users to look for census information by area, topic, or both.
  • National Gallery of Art – Free Images and Open Access - "Free open access image downloads are now available directly from the object pages located on this website. More than 60,000 images are available for download, and we will continue to add more as they become available.
    Images of these works are available free of charge for any use, whether commercial or non-commercial."
  • Smithsonian Open Access - "Welcome to Smithsonian Open Access, where you can download, share, and reuse millions of the Smithsonian’s images—right now, without asking. With new platforms and tools, you have easier access to more than 5.1 million 2D and 3D digital items from our collections—with many more to come. This includes images and data from across the Smithsonian’s 21 museums, nine research centers, libraries, archives, and the National Zoo."

  • National Agricultural Statistics Service - The USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) conducts hundreds of surveys every year and prepares reports covering virtually every aspect of U.S. agriculture. Production and supplies of food and fiber, prices paid and received by farmers, farm labor and wages, farm finances, chemical use, and changes in the demographics of U.S. producers are only a few examples.
    • USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service Texas Field Office - This page offers Texas Statistics.

  • Bureau of Labor Statistics - "The Bureau of Labor Statistics measures labor market activity, working conditions, price changes, and productivity in the U.S. economy to support public and private decision making."
    • Data Tools - Data retrieval tools include calculators, maps, top picks, and public data api.
  • U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) - "The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis is your source of accurate and objective data about the nation's economy."
    • Data by Place - Explore the data by topic, place, or economic accounts.
    • BEARFACTS - "BEA Regional Fact Sheet about personal income, gross domestic product (GDP), and foreign direct investment."

  • Bureau of Justice Statistics - "The mission of BJS is to collect, analyze, publish, and disseminate information on crime, criminal offenders, victims of crime, and the operation of justice systems at all levels of government."
  • Office of Homeland Security Statistics - Statistics published by the Office of Homeland Security where users can find statistics on topics such as Immigration, Law Enforcement, Emergency Management, Maritime Security, Cybersecurity, and much more.

  • National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) - NCES contains key information about the condition of education within the United States.Users can browse and access features such as common core of data, statewide longitudinal Dta systems Grant Program, Early Childhood Lingitudinal Study (ECLS) the National Teacher and Principal Survey, and many more.
    • National Report Card - "The National Assessment of Educational Progress [(NAEP)] has been assessing what students know and can do since 1969." Use The Nation's Report Card website to find student performance data across subject or by state along with other informaiton in its dashboards and data tools.

  • HealthData.gov - The HHS open data site allows users to find health and human services data, tools and resources for research purposes. Meant to inform the public and policy makers and increase transparency in health policy related decisions.
  • National Center for Health Statistics - "The National Center for Health Statistics is the nation's source for official health statistics. We collect, analyze, and share data and statistics to guide programs and policies that improve the health of people across the United States."
  • SAMHSA Data - "Research shows that substance use and mental illnesses are common in the United States, affecting millions of people each year. SAMHSA collects data through multiple sources and surveys and provides access to public-use data files and documentation to support a better understanding of mental illness and substance use disorders in America."

  • Biological and Physical Sciences Data - "The NASA Open Science Data Repository (OSDR) and Physical Sciences Informatics (PSI) provide open access to biological and physical science datasets from spaceflight and ground studies, enabling data reuse for discovery and innovation. Together, they accelerate research, broaden participation, and advance NASA’s open science mission."
  • Earth Data - Earth Science Data System (ESDS) program includes a data catalog, data tools, and alerts & outages for users to access. You can brownse and search by various topics such as Atmosphere, Biosphere, Ocean, Cryosphere, and climate indicators.
  • Geospatial Platform (GeoPlatform) - "This site provides access to ~100,000 open geospatial data assets via a suite of highly available geospatial data, services, applications, and community tools for an Open Source Geospatial Suite of capabilities."
  • NASA Data - "Data.nasa.gov is NASA’s publicly available metadata repository, hosting diverse datasets related to science, space exploration, aeronautics, and more. ... Most dataset pages only house metadata for each dataset. Typically, actual data is hosted on other NASA archive sites but now data.nasa.gov will have that metadata and the links to data that exists in other locations."
  • NASA Plentary Data System (BETA Site) - "The Planetary Data System (PDS) is a long-term archive of digital data products returned from NASA's planetary missions, and from other kinds of flight and ground-based data acquisitions, including laboratory experiments. But it is more than just a facility - the archive is actively managed by planetary scientists to help ensure its usefulness and usability by the world wide planetary science community."
  • National Centers For Environmental Information - "NCEI provides environmental data, products, and services covering the depths of the ocean to the surface of the sun to drive resilience, prosperity, and equity for current and future generations."
  • National Geospatial Program - "The USGS National Geospatial Program (NGP) provides vital, trusted topographic mapping information for the United States. NGP’s portfolio and cross-cutting initiatives span from developing and maintaining The National Map to emergency response support to cutting edge geospatial applications."
  • National Park Service – Data Categories - Download and explore several categories of NPS data including geology, vegitation, water quality, soils, trails, forestry, and much more.
  • NOAA OneStop - "The portal gives access to nearly 35,000 collections and millions of individual records spanning geophysical, ocean, coastal, weather, and climate data. OneStop also features multimedia previews and direct data downloads, when available."
  • U.S. Geological Survey - "Contains information on science including environment, water, minerals, natural resources, ecosystems, climate, and land-use, for example."

  • Bureau of Transportation Statistics - "The Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS), part of the Department of Transportation (DOT) is the preeminent source of statistics on commercial aviation, multimodal freight activity, and transportation economics, and provides context to decision makers and the public for understanding statistics on transportation."
  • U.S. Department of Transportation Data Transportation - Site which contains Transportation Data from the U.S. Department of Transportation.
