The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley offers a wide range of financial support and funding opportunities to help students cover the cost of their education.
Graduate Assistantships
Assistantships give students the opportunity to work on campus (up to 20-hour work weeks).
Student Travel
The Graduate Student Travel Award supports research-related travel expenses by reimbursing eligible students with a maximum award of $500 to help defray the costs associated with presenting at a conference.
Travel Match Initiative
The Student Travel Matching initiative provides financial support for graduate students to present their research at academic conferences and professional meetings. The program offers up to $800 in matching funds per student, with priority given to Doctoral students.
Financial Aid
Most students at UTRGV receive some form of financial aid to help offset the cost of their education. This usually consists of some combination of scholarships, grants, loans, and other institutional aid programs.

UTRGV’s Tuition and Fees are the lowest in the UT System and the 2nd lowest among all Texas public universities.
